The
ANYPAY member status
One of the biggest security problems of the web is anonymity that crooks
can hide behind much too easy. ANYPAY's answer is a range of identity
verifications. Depending on the grade of verification, a certain
status is asigned to each user.
The statusses are:
"Verified"
This member has registered and verified at least one bank account or
credit card. He has prooved to be the authorized owner of that financial
account. You can be sure that this member is not fraudulently using
someone else's means of payment, like with typical credit card fraud.
"Verified (mobile)"
This member has registered and verified a mobile phone. He prooved to
be the authorized owner of that phone.
Verifying financial accounts takes at least a couple of days, while
SMS verification is available instantly. This way, verifying a cellphone
brings at least a certain security with freshly signed up members. In
case of fraud, the true identity of someone can be investigated thru
the mobile provider (exception: prepaid phones).
"Not verified"
This member has not verified identity relevant details yet. He could
even be someone from another country.
The meber status is a useful decision help when doing business with
someone. ANYPAY could even offer some kind of waranty to it's verified
users.
Most of all, verifications often keep "black sheep" out upfront.
But of course the member status doesn not give information about the
member's credit rating.
